Grant Lesch started his career as a mobile DJ at the age of 13. His first job as a resident DJ was at the George Pub in Cape Town and during this time he played as a guest DJ at Browns Café too.

In 1998 Grant launched his Radio Career at UCT Radio. This gave him the platform he needed to expand into the Club scene where he played at places like Café Sirens (Claremont, Cape Town) as a resident DJ on Sundays and as a guest DJ at Club Avenues (Caledon), Nightshift (Blue Downs) & Funky Lemon (Claremont).

The coming of the millennium saw Grant’s Radio Career move to the next level, when he was offered the 22:00-02:00 weekend slot on P4 Radio (now known as Heart FM). Within seven months of joining P4 Radio, Grant moved onto the weekend breakfast slot from 6am-9am. This afforded Grant the opportunity to engage with and build relationships with numerous club owners in and around Cape Town where he then went on to be booked as a guest DJ at clubs like Galaxy/West End (Athlone), Peter Cellars (Paarl), Club Niveau (Wellington), Miami Beach Café (Muizenberg), Café Amnesia (Ottery) to name but a few.

In September 2001 Grant was offered the 3pm-6pm weekend slot on P4 Radio. In September 2002 he was then moved to do “The Grant Lesch House Party” (80’s Mix Party Show) 5pm-9pm on Saturday’s. This radio slot provided the opportunity to promote many other local DJ’s such as DJ Catt, Dr. Jules, DJ Oscar & DJ Ricky to name a few. At the same time in 2002 Grant became the first producer of a weekday breakfast show at P4 Radio.

In addition to his career as an On Air Presenter, Grant hosted many corporate and community events as an MC.

Apart from the shows he hosted at P4 Radio, Grant Lesch was host of the weekend Breakfast show on Radio ACK (Ackermans) from June 2000 – November 2002 too.

In February 2006 Grant landed his dream job at his all-time favourite radio station, Good Hope FM, as a Programme Assistant. In 2012 his hard work paid off and he became the Music Compiler and still continues to do the job he loves.

Grant regularly mixes Live On Air on Good Hope FM for various shows namely ‘Dr’s In The House’ with Dr. Jules at 18:30 Saturdays and The Sunset Smoothie Mix at 19:00 Sunday evenings, where he was nicknamed “Pappa G”.

Grant currently enjoys a DJ residency at Hanover Street Night Club and as a guest DJ at Open Arms, Las Vegas Lounge, Stones (Parow) & Lucky Plaza Pub (Vasco).

He is a versatile DJ that can get any crowd to respond to what he specializes in be it Commercial Dance, RnB, Hip-Hop or Old School Classics.
